FAQ

Qns. When will the competition be played?
Ans. The competition will be played during the 2 weeks vacation period in December.

Qns. How much is the registration fee?
Ans. The registration fee is $25 for a team.

Qns. If this is a school event, why must we pay?
Ans. This is an event organized by the student committee of Temasek Polytechnic and not the school themselves. Costs need to be individually accounted for and therefore players have to pay a registration fee to offset that cost.

Qns. How many team slots will be opened for the competition?
Ans. 48 team slots based on first come first serve basis.

Qns. Is it compulsory to have a reserve player?
Ans. No, it is not compulsory, but it would be advisable to have a reserve player as a safeguard in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Qns. Can I bring my own equipment?
Ans. Yes you may, you are given 30 minutes before the match to configure and install all the drivers you require. After the 30 minutes, players are not allowed to configure or change any more settings. If the school computer does not allow the driver to be installed, the player will have to play as it is.

Qns. What if I am late reporting for my matches?
Ans. We have a very strict rule on punctuality. Teams who do not have their full team reporting on the stipulated time will play without those who are not present. If less than 3 players are present, the team will be disqualified.

Qns. What is the dress code for this competition?
Ans. Smart casual. Covered shoe is a must as public media might be present to cover the event.

Qns. What do I need when reporting for my match?
Ans. Your TP student matriculation card and your personal equipment if needed.

Qns. What games are available for play this year?
Ans. For this year, we are only going ahead with DoTA.

Qns. Which map version of DoTA will be played?
Ans. 6.64

Qns. If my team mate is having Student Internship Programme (SIP), can we still join?
Ans. It would be advisable to have a substitute player ready but we will try our best to group those team which have SIP player in them to an evening time but necessary action would be taken at our own discreet.

Qns. What if during the 2 weeks holiday, I am travelling overseas for vacation?
Ans. Our best advise would be to have a substitute player ready to take over your place in the competition.
